Live assisted selling from your stores

Your best product knowledge is standing in your stores.

Oktium connects a shopper on a product page to someone in a store who knows the item. They tap, it opens in their browser, and the order can be completed inside the call. The customer does not need an app.

A shop assistant holds a small piece of jewellery up to the light.
The question is on the product page. The answer is already in your store.

How many of last quarter's returns were simply the wrong thing?

Wrong size, wrong colour, wrong model for what the person actually needed. Not faulty. Just the wrong choice, made alone, from photographs.

Most teams can pull that number. Few enjoy looking at it.

01 / The route

The question gets answered by someone who handles the product.

A shopper on a product page taps the Face2 button. The call opens in their browser — no download, no account. It routes to the store, the department, or the specialist who deals with that range, and to whoever is actually available.

They can see the item. Held up, turned over, compared against the other one. The assistant answers the question that was about to end the session, then creates the order and takes the payment without either of them leaving the call.

  1. 01A Face2 button on the product page opens a live conversation in the shopper's browser.
  2. 02The route selects the right store, department, or named specialist who is available.
  3. 03The assistant shows the product, answers the question, and completes the order while the shopper is there.

02 / The alternatives

Against the tools already on the page.

  1. 01

    Live chat and chatbots.

Good at order status and delivery questions. Poor at “will this actually suit me”, which is the question that decides a high-consideration purchase.

  2. 02

    A central contact centre.

Trained on process, not on product. They can look up a spec. They cannot pick the item up.

  3. 03

A video shopping platform staffed by agents.

The same limitation, with better production values. The knowledge still is not in the room.

  4. 04

    Your stores, unreachable.

The people who answer this question all day already work for you. They are simply not connected to your website.

03 / Your arithmetic

Your own numbers, two ways.

Returns. Take your return rate on the categories where people hesitate. Take the share that came back because it was the wrong choice rather than a fault. Apply your cost per return, including the handling nobody counts.

Conversion. Take the traffic on those same product pages and the share that leaves without ordering. Those two figures are the size of the opportunity. We are not going to estimate either one for you.

Who this fits

Worth your time if:

  • you sell considered purchases where people hesitate, compare, or ask about fit
  • you have physical stores, or specialists who know the range properly
  • returns from wrong choices are a real cost line
  • your store staff have moments in the day when they are not with someone

Probably not, if:

  • your basket is low value and high volume, and speed is the whole proposition
  • you hold no stock and have no product expertise of your own
  • your traffic converts fine without help, in which case spend the money elsewhere

How does payment reach the business?

Scroll horizontally to explore the diagram.

The business sends a payment request during the call. The customer provides card details to the connected payment gateway, which settles the money to the business outside Oktium. Shipping, where relevant, goes directly from the business to the customer.

04 / Start small

One category. One quarter.

Not a site-wide decision. Pick the range with the highest hesitation and the worst returns, put the Face2 button on those product pages, and route it to the stores that know it.

  2. 02routing to store, department, or named specialist, with availability
  3. 03order creation and payment inside the call through your connected gateway
  4. 04session data against each product page, so the pilot produces its own evidence
